Nepal Reconstruction Aid Concert

Please join us for what is sure to be an exciting and fun filled evening at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium for the Nepal Reconstruction Aid Concert.

The concert has been funded by the Tibetan Association of Northern California  (TANC) who has kindly reached out to AVA to be part of this event and will be donating 30% of the money raised to our rebuild Nepal program. AVA will spend all money donated in Nepal helping rebuild communities and lives.

The amazing line up of artists include Sonam Wangdue and Tenzin Dolma from New York, Passang Lhamo and Lobsang Tseten from Canada and D.J. Tijay. The concert starts at 6:00 pm on November 20th at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium 403 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA. Advance tickets are $20 or $25 at the door so purchase in advance. Children 12 and younger are free.

We would like to extend a special thank you to TANC, all the artists involved who are donating their talents and time and to all the volunteers helping to set up this fundraiser in order to make it a success. Your generosity, commitment and kindness is greatly appreciated.

Nepal Earthquake Relief

On Saturday April 25 just before noon a deadly earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale hit Nepal. There is over 8,500 confirmed deaths with numbers still rising. Thousands of people are reportedly still missing and at least 2 million have been displaced. There have been over 16,000 reported injuries. An estimate of 8 million people have been affected by the earthquake.

Communication with our partners in Nepal is still difficult but we have reached them and we are happy to report our staff and the children at all the orphanages we work with are safe with minimal injuries.

You can help by making a donation. Rebuilding and recovering from this tragedy will be difficult, Nepal needs your help and support. As always AVA will continue to be run entirely by unpaid volunteers which allows us to work with a very low overhead cost. We will be sending 100% of donations made to AVA directly to Nepal.

AVA is not a first response organization. Donations will be spent on whatever is most needed in the coming days, weeks, months and years. You can make a onetime donation or help by donating a set amount once a month.

Donate now to help Nepal earthquake survivors!

Why Donate To Help Nepal Earthquake Victims Through AVA?

100% of your donation will go directly to Nepal when you give through AVA. We will never spend your donated money on administration fees or paying high western wages.

Even with low overhead, how does AVA spend 100% of donations on programs overseas?

The money for overhead costs come out of the registration fees paid by volunteers, never from donations.

AVA is not a first response charity so how will my donation help?

While AVA is not set up for first response efforts that doesn’t mean we can’t make a big impact. It will take years to rebuild the homes and replace what was lost in the earthquake and AVA will be there to help with this process.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

AVA is a Canadian registered charity. All Canadian donations will receive a tax receipt by mail.
