AVA was started in 2007 with the purpose of providing affordable international volunteer opportunities. At AVA we feel everyone should have the opportunity to experience life in developing countries through volunteer opportunities overseas. To keep the cost affordable to volunteers we do not ask for large cash donations. We believe donating your time and effort is a substantial donation. AVA is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about what they do. You will find AVA staff is personal and professional.
AVA is proud to announce a new volunteer program abroad based in Ghana, West Africa.
Volunteers will have the option of teaching children age 6 to 16, or you can participate by helping out in an orphanage with young kids.
Details are now available at Volunteer Ghana.
A special thanks to everyone who helped by volunteering, helped with building designs or by donating to our first eco friendly toilet! The new toilet is now finished and is located at a government school in rural Nepal. The toilet has been such a great success we have been getting requests for more eco friendly toilets from schools and community centers in Nepal!
